Kartik Month

In all other months, Kartik is considered to be the greatest of all months. It is known as the most auspicious month of the year. So people are performing religious functions such as marriage, holy bath, meditation of goodness and charity to discard all the sins that they had done and to get Kartik month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva and this month also consist of Bhakta Valsalya. During Kartik month, people are lighting a lamp to Lord Krishna to get a visual experience. Kartik month praises the story life of Lord Krishna's past of being tied with ropes by mother Yashoda. Devotees are practising Vrata at this period and through experiencing Vrata, whether it may be smallest or largest will provide good results. Kartik month is also known as Damodar month. According to Hindu mythology, Pitamaha wished to leave his body in Kaivalya Pada, not in sadhana pada. Because while he dies in Kaivalya Pada, he can harvest the fruits of life. Two most important celebration experiencing in this month is Karva Chauth and Diwali. Married women are conducting the celebration for Karwa Chauth on the fourth day, the dark half of the month for the well being and longevity of their husbands. And the festival of lights Diwali is also celebrating this month. During that day, devotees are worshipping Tulsi. Because the belief is that Tulsi is the most favourite plant to Lord Vishnu and it is beneficial and effective to worship and consume Tulsi. While devotees will experience fasting, one should follow the rules of observing fast to get a better and blessed result, otherwise, fasting is not considered to It is very necessary to bath in the early morning in Ganga river and worshipping Lord Vishnu on that day. Another rule is that don't take someone else's food and it is better to avoid eating carrot, wood apple, gourd. The main and important significance is to avoid eating non-vegetarian foods. Devotees want to control their emotions and it is necessary to talk less. Avoid eating sesame seeds, peas etc..The last five days of Kartik month is known as Bhishm Panchuka. It is considered as sacred and the last day is Katika Purnima. Mostly the devotees' visits in these places are widows and old couples. They will come and stay in these holy places and spend most of their time spiritual activities. Moreover that devotees are taking holy bath in Pancha tirtha before visiting Lord Jagannath temple. By doing Snan or Kartik Snan in Pancha teertha, devotees will get divine results and salvation.
