Bhadrapaada month
Bhadrapada is pointed out as the sixth month in Hindu calendar. It is also known as Shunya masa, so people Should have to avoid performing functions such as marriages, house warming etc...During that period, devotees must obey some rules of Bhadrapada month. An important significance of this month is people should have to inspire patience and discipline to life and then it leads to success. Avoid spicy foods including nonvegetarian foods. Hindus need to practice a simple life and avoid sleeping habits on luxurious beds. Oily foods and jaggery must be avoided. There are some important festivals conducted in Bhadrapada month. They are Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Parsva Ekadashi, and Anant Chaturdashi. Bhadrapada month starts with Swarna Gouri Vrtha and Vinayaka Chaturthi. During the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees worship Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Visarjan is also celebrated this month. At that time, devotees are dipping the idol of Lord Ganesha in a pond or sea. After Ganesha Chaturthi, Mahalakshmi vrat starts on Shukla Ashtami. On the second day, Rishi Panchami is celebrating as the devotion to Sapta Rishis. On the sixth day is Bhadramasam dedicating to Surya Shasti. Jyeshta Devi Pooja is conducted on the eighth day of Bhadrapada month. Especially married women are practising this pooja. In North India, people are celebrating Krishna Janmashtami as the birthday of Lord Krishna. During that month, an imbalanced serving of Panchagavya is necessary. Panchagavya consists of five cow products such as cow dung, milk, ghee, cow urine, curd. During the Bhadrapada month, devotees should have to prepare their own food and it is better to avoid eating food from others. The festivals in Bhadrapada month are coming on various dates for Purnimant and Amavasyant calendar. In the Purnimant calendar, Bhadrapada month consists of festivals such as Krishna Janmashtami, Aja Ekadashi, Hartalika Teej, Rishi Panchami, Radha Ashtami, Parsva Ekadashi and Ganesh Visarjan. In Amavasyant calendar includes the festivals of Hartalika Teej, Ganesh Chaturthi, Rishi Panchami, Radha Ashtami, Parsva Ekadashi, Ganesh Visarjan, Pitru Paksha, Indira Ekadashi, Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Devotees are worshipping Devathas and Rishi Gana in the first half of this month, Yet in the second half of Bhadrapada month is dedicated to worship Pitru Devathas. On the fourteenth day of Bhadrapada month, Sukla Chaturdasi or Anantha Chaturdasi is celebrated as the devotion to Lord Vishnu in the form of Anantha.
