Our standards

Editorial Guidelines & Fact-Checking

These standards explain how Vedic Matters creates, reviews, updates, and corrects educational content.

Purpose and scope

Vedic Matters publishes educational material about Vedic traditions, astrology, calendars, scriptures, yoga, Ayurveda, temples, and related cultural subjects. We aim to distinguish traditional belief, historical context, calculation-based results, and modern interpretation clearly.

Sources and attribution

Writers should identify primary scriptures, recognized translations, established commentaries, or reputable modern references whenever a claim depends on a particular source. Quotations and adapted material must be attributed. We do not present anonymous internet claims as established fact.

Astrology and calendar content

Astrological interpretations are presented as traditional or educational guidance, not guaranteed outcomes. Calculated dates and timings depend on location, timezone, astronomical inputs, and the selected tradition or ayanamsa. Pages should state these dependencies where they materially affect a result.

Health-related content

Ayurveda, yoga, and wellbeing articles are educational and do not replace diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional. Writers must avoid promises of cures and should encourage professional advice where safety, medication, pregnancy, or serious symptoms are involved.

Author and review transparency

Where author information is available, articles link to a contributor profile. Material changes should update the modification date. Automated tools, editorial summaries, and contributor-written articles should not be represented as personal professional advice.

Corrections

We correct factual, calculation, attribution, and formatting errors when identified. Substantive corrections should be reflected in the page’s updated date. Readers can report an issue through the contact information listed on the site.

Independence and commercial content

Commercial relationships, paid tools, or promotional links should not alter the factual standard applied to editorial content. Calls to action must remain distinguishable from the educational material around them.
