The 27 nakshatras are grouped into three Nadis—Adi, Madhya, and Antya. In the commonly used Ashtakoota system, partners assigned the same Nadi receive zero of the eight Nadi points, while different Nadis receive the full score.
Why “cancellation” is not one universal rule
Regional lineages and astrological texts are not applied identically. Practitioners may examine the exact nakshatras and padas, Moon signs and their lords, the strength of relevant planets, and whether both charts contain balancing factors.
