Vishnu Sahasranama — 1000 Names with Sanskrit, Transliteration & Meaning

The Vishnu Sahasranama (विष्णुसहस्रनामस्तोत्रम्) is one of the most beloved devotional hymns in the Vedic tradition. It appears in the Anushasana Parva of the Mahabharata, where Bhishma Pitamaha, on his bed of arrows, teaches Yudhishthira the thousand sacred names of Lord Vishnu — the preserver, protector, and supreme refuge of all beings.

This reader-friendly namavali lists all 1008 names in order, with Devanagari Sanskrit, transliteration, and a clear English meaning for each name. Read straight through, jump to a section below, or return daily to contemplate a few names at a time.
