Varuthini Ekadashi
As a Hindu festival, Varuthini Ekadashi is coming on the eleventh lunar day. Devotees are worshipping Vamana, the avatar of Lord Vishnu on that day. Varuthini Ekadashi Vrit starts from the day before Ekadashi is called Dashami and from that day, devotees took meals only once. This Vrit continues till the next sunrise in Dwadashi. Some important items such as mainly on-vegetarian foods, honey, betel nut, black gram and chickpea are avoided and bell metal utensils are also prohibited during this Ekadashi. The main intention of celebrating Varuthini Ekadashi is to believe that the person, one who follows the rituals of Varuthini Ekadashi will be secured from all the bad situations and will get good possession. It is very necessary to avoid negative feelings such as anger and devotees must avoid certain routines on that day such as avoid to spread oil n the body, sexual activity, gambling, violence etc..People who want to observe this will follow the rituals of Varuthini Ekadashi. Devotees are following fasting by neither eating foods nor even drink a drop of water too. In all Ekadashi, people were devoted to Lord Vishnu, but this Ekadashi has people are devoting the avatar of Vishnu. People are donating some small accounts as donating on an auspicious day. It is described in Bhavishya. As stated in the conversation between Dharam Raja Yudhishtira and Lord Sri Krishna. Based on the Hindu belief is that devotees will get the benefits equal to donating gold at Kurukshetra. The main and important meaning of Varuthini Ekadashi is Kanyadan and on that same day is equal to giving hundred Kanyadan. While doing Varuthini Ekadasi chanting Vishnu Sahasranamam and Bhagawat Gita is a good practice. Varuthini Ekadasi, chanting Vishnu Sahasranamam and Bhagavad Gita is a good practice. On that day, devotees are conducting special puja.
