Rama Navami
According to Hindu mythology, Rama Navami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Rama in Chaitra month. During that auspicious day, devotees are going to temples that are decorated for the festival and narrate Ramayana stories. Some places celebrate Rama Navami in nine days. On that day, the devotee offers flowers and fruits to God. Some Hindus practise special fasting and end with a big feast in the evening. As part of birthday celebrations, public gatherings called Satsangs are organised. King Dasaratha was disappointed because of the absence of sons. He decided to observe Putrakameshti Yaga and God appeared in front of him. Lord gave him a bowl of sweet rice. King Dasaratha divided the sweet rice to his three wives Kaushalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra. On the day of Navami, Kaushalya gave birth to Lord Sriram, Kaikeyi gave birth to Bharath and Sumithra gave birth to twins Lakshman and Shatrughan. This is the story behind the birth of Lord Rama. During that day in Ayodhya, streets and every house are beautifully decorated. The ritual begins with bathing and dressed the idols of child Rama and placed in a cradle. Devotees are reciting Rama's stories or Bhajans. A lamp is lit in front of the idol of Lord Rama and offers Kheer to God. Hindu devotees are conducting Kanya Puja as part of the ritual of Rama Navami. On this day nine girls are invited to a home and portrayed as nine goddesses. Halwa and Puri are prepared as Prasad and giving to those girls. Things such as soli, aipun, rice, water, flowers, bell, and conch are the necessary things for prayers. Devotees are remembering Lord Rama as the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. His main intention to come down to earth is to battle with the demon king Ravana. While Ramrajya became popular with peace and prosperity.
