How to worship Sun God
In Hindu mythology, Solar deity or Sun God is considered as the creator of the Universe. He is represented as a red man with three eyes and four arms. As the main deity of Navagrahas or Nine planets of Hindu Astrology, Hindus are worshipping Sun God as the supreme being. Here Vedic matters explain the ways to worship or praise Sun God. Sun Worship has been used frequently as a term for "Pagan" religion. To worship the Sun God, devotees need to wake up early in the morning and to meet the rising sun. They are facing the sunrise to show the honour of devotee to Sun God. After that, they want to squat. Then the rest of the arms on the tops of the thighs. Devotees are saying thanks to Sun God by closing eyes for giving another day of life. To represent the honour to Lord Sun, raise the hands to the sky with a smile to greet it. As a part of the ritual, some devotees are offering water to the Sun. In the early morning after bathing, devotees are wearing clean clothes. Face the Sun to the eastern direction before starts to worship the Lord. Take some water in a container by adding Ashtagandha, red flowers and akshat in it. First to purify yourself and start praying to Lord Ganesha. By chanting the mantra "OM SURYAYA NAMAH '' offers that water to Sun. Then touch the forehead to the ground and chanting another mantra. The daily offering of water creates a balance in the body and mind. After offering water to Lord Sun, apply tilak and chant Gayatri mantra and also recite "OM GHRINIM SURYA ADITYAMU ''. Then practising meditation, to get peace, touch the poured water on the ground and apply a drop of it on head and eyes. Moreover, by worshipping Lord Sun, devotees can clear ego, anger, greed, desire and such negative thoughts from the mind. There are a lot of temples in India worshipping Lord Sun such as Konark Sun temple, Modhera Sun temple, Kumbakonam Suryanar temple etc..
